Washington D.C. – In yet another unconstitutional power grab, Donald Trump ordered Russ Vought — OMB Director, Social Security foe, Project 2025 architect, and creepy Trump pity project — to cook up an executive order that puts political cronies “in charge of billions of dollars in federal health research grants” at the National Institutes of Health. As the NYT reports: “[I]t would mark the latest attempt by the Trump administration to usurp the scientific autonomy of the N.I.H., a $48 billion agency that distributes a majority of its budget to labs across the country for research into areas such as heart disease, cancer and infectious diseases … arguing in part that the government has been funding “woke” liberal priorities.”
